Polymer Clay
Each creation starts with conditioning polymer clay until the perfect malleability is achieved. Then colors are blended and mixed to evolve into the palette that are the base for the next steps. The initial cane is formed by layering sheets or shapes of clay. There are many options for the next step. The clay can be rolled, stretched, pressed, cut, extruded or embedded. After the initial construction, it is then reduced by hand stretching and cutting repeatedly until the final size is about the size of a coin. The magic is revealed through thinly slicing the cane with a guillotine to reveal the final pattern. These thin slices are then laid out and hand pressed working toward the final creation.
The entire process is all done by hand with no mechanical devices. In a world of quickly evolving mass production true creations from an artist's hands and minds is rare and valuable.
