Stoneware and paperclay porcelain clays. Paperclay porcelain is poured into constructed single use cardboard molds allowing me to progressively explore unconventional iterations of simple geometric shapes. Surface texture and glaze development are also important components of my work. Larger pieces are handbuilt with robust stoneward clays using some of the same forms of the cardboard molds. Pieces are fired in either an electric or gas kiln. If fired in the gas kiln, some soda ash may be added for flashing on the clay.
